Phew! Another big week under our belt and I gotta say this week feels like there have been some seriously informative conversations happening in our MLOps Slack. I think we may have hit a tipping point 😱

Help, I need Somebody
We are currently meeting behind the scenes to orchestrate a new project. It is centered around creating an opportunity for the community to have hands-on experience to common problems that tend to crop up in the MLOps universe.

If anyone is interested in being part of the organizational team for this please reach out, we are looking for 2-3 engineers that have experience building production ML systems.

Git-based CI/CD for ML and MLOps
There have been a number of questions floating around in slack about CI/CD for ML and what are some best practices. This week we are going to talk to Yaron Haviv to hear his take on things!

More specifically in this meetup you will learn:

  1. What are the main challenges when moving from ML research environments to production pipeline deployments and how to overcome those
  2. How to automatically convert data-science code from notebooks or code to elastic microservices/functions on Kubernetes and Kubeflow
  3. How to leverage Git to automate ML pipelines, accelerate model development, and enable robust CI/CD processes which cut time to deployment
  4. How data-scientists, data-engineers and ml engineers can collaborate effectively to reduce friction and increase productivity using MLOps practices

Influencer Status
I convinced data scientist and LinkedIn celebrity Danny Ma to join us last week and talk shop around Continuous Evaluation & Model Experimentation. I will just say, he has such an elegant way of explaining complex topics.... Or maybe it was just his Aussie accent that stole my heart 🤗

I highly recommend checking out the recording video or podcast and also following his hashtag on LinkedIn #datawithDanny

Coffee sessions #4: A conversation around feature stores
You Voted, We Listened! After an astounding number of you all voted for our next coffee session to be feature stores David and I got Jim Dowling (CEO Logical Clocks) and Venkata Pingali (CEO Scribble Data) to come and give us their wisdom on the subject!

Check out the video recording here and the podcast version here. Also, hope you're not too distracted by John Coltrane's sax in the background 🎷
Aparna and Arize
We have been talking tons about ML monitoring and observability, and our most recent guest on the meetup was Aparna Dhinakaran who gave us an in-depth look at why monitoring is so important. She also let us in on a little sneak peek at what they are cooking up at Arize.

Check out the video here and podcast here. Also if you have yet to read her writing on medium around ML tooling definitely give that a looksy

Best of Slack
I've recently created a medium page where I share some of the best threads happening in our slack channel. Here are the first two I have uploaded. (plus a bonus from our community member Elle)
Have a great week! Check out our slack, youtube, and podcasts if you haven't already. Also, it would mean a lot to me if you filled out this form so I can learn more about the community.
