Give Away! That is right we are going to be raffling off 2 tickets to TWIMLcon in slack so if you aren't in it already jump in!

As for everything else it looks like we are back on the grind without any major hiccups, well unless you live in good ol 'Merica! (No Comment)

Also I want to give a shoutout to all those that are doing the Engineering Labs right now and working on teams to create some pretty cool projects! I can see in you are all putting forth some huge effort and it is so cool to see! The deadline for this Engineering lab is Feb 1st and then the world will get to see what you all have created! We hope to make this a regular thing so for those that were asking for more hands-on experience in the feedback forms look no further!

Wrap Your Head Around This
For this meetup we have the pleasure of talking with one of the creators of the incredible website and educational material ProductizeML.

Who Made This?
Adria Romero is the cocreator of ProductizeML. Romero is also an AI, ML, and product enthusiast with more than 4 years of professional experience on his mission to empower society with data and AI-driven solutions.

Straight From The Horse's Mouth
From the website you will see the whole focus of what Adria and team are trying to do is this:

"Productize ML provides guidelines and best practices for managing the end-to-end Machine Learning life cycle and its productization."

+ Along the lines of great courses to help you with MLOps I have been talking to Josh Tobin the creator of FullStack Deep Learning and he will come on to the meetup in March to talk us through some of what he feels is needed for MLOps education right now.

+ Your Take: It would be great to hear feedback from you if you have taken any of these courses and what your thoughts on them are/the projects involved!

Yes Yes Y'all!

Community Member Bamigbade is back with part 2/3 for TDD in MLOps and he gets deep into the weeds! crack open your notebooks and bookmark this one cause it is packed with great info!

The main topics covered in part 2 are:

  • Test organisation in sources code
  • Applicable tests with examples (hands-on)
  • Mastering test execution with Pytest (hands-on)
  • Expected failure and conditional skipping

Let us know if you have any questions in the comments or reach out to Bamigbade directly in the community slack!
Coffee Session
Underrated Pieces In MLOps
This is one of those great stories that only happen in communities like this one where we all have knowledge to share and are exploring this new frontier together.

Happenstance
Miran aka Mignev in slack commented on one of our youtube videos about how there are so many underrated topics in MLOps that get brushed over to in lieu of talking about the flashy stuff. I saw that comment and said we can do a coffee session on it but only if you are the guest of honor! Mirian agreed and Bam you've got a full hour of Vishnu Miran and I talking about what some of the most underratted/underappreciated pieces of MLOps are.

+ If you couldn't tell Vishnu has solidified his presence in the coffee sessions the guy is a voracious learner and astute questioner so I give it another month before he completely takes my job!

+ Favorite Quote From The Session: "Start small and start simple to focus only on a small problem that you can bring more value to than the others."

What Is Real Time?
Real-Time Feature Pipelines: One Man's Journey
Hendrik broke down three phases of his ML journey and how they all related to each other in the most recent meetup. I love diving into seeing how each time he "graduated" from one architecture he brought the learnings with him and was able to say "right, I'm never gonna do that one again!"

Real Time Is Hard
I appreciate his honesty and transparency as he laid out the pros and cons of all the different phases he has gone through so far and how sometimes he thought he was moving forward yet later he realized maybe it wasn't the best idea.

+ Hendrik told us stories of having to use the language F# as a go-between of R and C#. Shoutout to anyone that has ever had to use that and knows his pain!

+ Find the whole conversation here on video or on podcast.
Conference
Get The Model Out!
Long time community member and meetup guest Alexey is going to be running a free conference that takes place every Friday in Febuary and on the 12th he is going to be having a day specifically dedicated to putting your Machine Learning into Production. The event is completely free and you will see some familiar faces from the community so I highly recommend you sign up and get the most of it!

Check out the link below for all the info and feel free to write Alexey directly in slack with any questions you might have!

+ Yes, I will probably be interviewing someone or giving my own spin on things at the event I just have to convince Alexey to let me!
Best of Slack
Happy holidays and a blessed new years to you all. See you in slack, youtube, and podcast land.
