Past Meetup
Da Modern Data Stack
Jeff Katz came on the Meetup to show us the hype around the modern data stack and how it relates to ML.

Jeff showed us the true side of data engineering, science, and machine learning, building an end-to-end data pipeline using (nearly) free software. And as if that wasn't already amazing, he continued to teach us how to bring raw streaming data through Segment, connect it to our BigQuery database, utilize DBT to track out SQL transformations, and even build a pure SQL ML model with BigQueryML to make predictions that could be fed directly to a BI dashboard.

Never played around with the Modern Data Stack before? This is a great way to get your feet wet. Want even more of Jeff and his teachings? Check out his website or set up a call with him to chat!
Coffee Session
ML Platform Tradeoffs and Wondering When to Use Them
What a pleasure to have Javier Mansilla from Mercado Libre join the podcast! Mercado Libra is one of the hottest startups in LatAm and we even had Carlos de la Torre join us on one of our earliest episodes talking about ML at scale.

Javier updated us on their platform journey (in case you were interested to learn from this rad case). But his insights on how to manage cross functional dependencies as ML needs scale take the show. He gave some really interesting tidbits on how to teach professionals across the org on how to be consumers of ML and some truly spicy thoughts on AutoML - all of which will likely turn out to be very helpful to you.

Check this one out for sure!

Together with AIIA
Experiment Tracking
April is Model Serving Month at the AIIA!

Learn how to serve models in simple and complex environments, see the difference between batch and online, sunset old models, use shadow and canary deployments, monitor the models for speed and latency and much, much more. This month we’ve asked our platforms to focus on DEMOS and CODE, which means fewers slides and more hands-on.

Your hosts, Valohai, Modzy and Iguazio will give ten minute lightning talks and Seldon will deliver a one hour demo. Get your hands dirty with them and take the dive deep into their open source and enterprise platforms.

Sign up at and join us at the Model Serving Event on April 7, 2022!
